Handelsbanken combines a long-established relationship banking model with secure, resilient, and customer-focused technology. Our technology teams enable the Bank’s decentralised way of working, delivering systems built for stability, trust, and long-term value.

We are on a multi-year technology and digital transformation journey to enhance customer experience and improve how colleagues work together. By modernising platforms, simplifying processes, and better connecting data and systems, we help relationship teams focus on customers and less on complexity.

Our decentralised culture extends to technology. Teams are trusted to take ownership, make informed decisions, and deliver sustainable, high-quality solutions. We value engineering excellence, pragmatic problem-solving, and strong collaboration across technology, business, and risk.

We offer technologists the opportunity to build lasting careers, deepen their expertise, and contribute to meaningful change. We look for people who care about quality, security, long-term impact, and who want to shape the future of a relationship-led bank.

The opportunity

The Modern Workplace Workstream has been initiated to identify and deliver opportunities for modernisation and improvement in the digital workspaces our colleagues utilise to service our customers’ and business’ needs. The programme’s vision is to enable greater collaboration and communication between our colleagues and external collaborators, by delivering an inspiring digital workplace that enables innovation and engagement.

An Implementation Manager is required to support the Modern Workplace team through a busy schedule of deliveries, through the management of platform environments, cut over / migration plans and go live readiness. All of the solutions we deliver are supplied by either external third parties or our parent company in Sweden (Group), so hands on stakeholder management is critical to our success. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic team player, comfortable working across multiple systems and teams. Presently, the team operates a hybrid working policy, spending two days a week in our London office.

Key responsibilities

  • Overall Implementation Management according to the Handelsbanken Change Governance model
  • Creation and maintenance of a team-wide release schedule and roadmap
  • Ownership of environment / tenant readiness and adherence to governance
  • Ensure all deliveries have a detailed cut over plan to support go live readiness
  • Work in partnership with the Delivery Leads to support go-live readiness tasks
  • Contribute to the build out of a repeatable operational / service transition operating model
  • Manage external supplier relationships, including Group and Third Party Vendors
  • Report progress, escalate challenges and ensure delivery of a solution that provides business value
  • Formally hand over to the production and maintenance organisations.

What we’re looking for

Research (by Harvard University) shows that women are particularly likely to second guess themselves and not apply - so if you are worried you don't meet all the criteria, get in touch anyhow and let us do the worrying…

  • Experienced release / implementation manager
  • Well versed in industry best practice for Digital & Modern Workplace initiatives
  • External vendor management experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Has the ability to build effective networks with stakeholders, both internally and externally
  • Experience in both waterfall and agile methodologies e.g. Scrum
  • A desire to continually improve the service delivered to customers
